RS-485 control panel for computer-based control of turnstiles and barriers

The BXC-SPIDER is an RS-485 interface designed for serial port control of turnstiles and barriers. It is an ideal add-on for parking systems, access control systems, and fitness center applications.

The device has multiple capabilities: it can operate both standard and set-reset (bistable) relays via serial port commands—allowing, for example, turnstile or swing gate arms to open in either direction. In addition, it includes bistable relays that can send sustained signals to connected devices (e.g., status indicator LEDs or lamps). Beyond outputs, the device features 4 independent inputs for connecting feedback signals from turnstiles or barriers (such as arm positions or rotation detection).

The BXC-SPIDER also monitors the status of the connected computer: if it does not receive a "heartbeat" signal within a certain interval, it can automatically switch to emergency mode, taking control of the connected equipment accordingly.
