OTIC-D4 - 4-door offline network access control panel - OTIC

Door control panels are central components of high-security, modern access control systems. They are incredibly useful even for single-door systems, but their versatile capabilities are even more beneficial for multi-door setups.

One of their fundamental advantages over traditional standalone readers is that the data is stored not in the readers, but in the controller's memory, which is located within a protected internal area. This means that unauthorized access is not possible even if the reader is removed. Moreover, network panels come with numerous additional benefits and functions.

These panels can connect directly to a PC or to a network via a switch through a TCP/IP connection. They can be configured, managed, and logged using a software interface that offers a clean yet comprehensive set of configuration options.

Unlike standalone readers, this product is merely a controller panel and cannot independently read cards, accept codes, or perform any other form of identification. This means that even for a minimal system, you will need not only a separate electric lock but also separate readers, which should be considered in the overall cost. However, this also means greater flexibility in design choices for readers compared to the fixed appearance of standalone readers.

The Otic system represents a local solution in Hungary. It is a Hungarian-developed door control panel and software, with the latter requiring no license activation and being completely free to use, including a Hungarian language interface. It can also be set to English.

OTIC-D4 is Otic's proprietary four-door, offline network access control panel, which does not handle biometric data. Although there are no one-door or two-door panels in the Otic system, the available four lock relays and four reader slots can be freely combined for configurations with fewer doors and optimized for installation in turnstiles or swing gates. It includes 2 auxiliary inputs and 1 auxiliary output for additional functionalities, and it offers a more economical solution compared to ZKTeco's two-door offline controller.

The downside of an offline system is that the panels do not communicate with each other. While anti-passback and interlock control are available, they only function between doors on the same panel. By default, the panels communicate with the software only upon request. However, unlike the ZKTeco system, the Otic system can automatically initiate this communication in some cases, similar to online systems.

Compared to its more advanced sibling, Predor, the Otic system's software is not expandable with various modules, so it lacks the same level of customization and does not include time and attendance management. However, if simple entry-exit based reporting and export are sufficient, the Otic system can handle this task as well.

Originally, the panel can monitor battery status and alert users to any quality degradation or malfunction. However, this requires a Fusion type power control panel in the power box. Due to a current chip shortage, the manufacturer is unable to provide this part, and we do not have any power boxes with this panel in stock. Consequently, the battery monitoring function is unavailable for an indefinite period.
